Gutters
K & B Rouse deal with various gutter designs that are available today to compliment the roof structure
Rubberised Plygene Gutterline System.
This system has been used by K & B Rouse on gutters between two roofs and has been found to be very substantial. The gutterline is factory manufactured from rubberised plygene, an exceptionally durable black plastic material and there is a gutterline system for virtually every type of gutter.
The material is made to measure to suit any gutter profile and is supplied in one seamless length. Unlike rigidly fixed and jointed gutters, which are often prone to cracking and leaking at the joints, rubberised plygene is unaffected by building movement. The application is straightforward, requiring no special equipment only hot air welding, for which our operators have a certificate of training.
Eaves Gutter
Various plastic and light gauge metal gutter systems are available. As these gutters are outside the building envelope, the design is less critical than for a valley parapet or boundary wall gutter.
Valley Parapet and Boundary Wall gutters.
These are effectively part of the roof construction and the consequences of overflow or leakage are far more serious than for external gutters so their correct design and installation is of critical importance. As they are part of the roof they must be insulated to prevent heat loss and condensation.
They should be wide enough and sufficiently strong to allow foot traffic and easy maintenance.
The gutters therefore, tend to be considerably larger and more substantial than eaves gutters and may be made of 3mm thick galvanised steel section, bolted together on site.
